With great power comes great responsibility. The same can be said for great contracts.
Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Iman Shumpert recently re-signed with the team to the tune of $40 million over four years, but he details some of the baggage that comes along with it on his new song “290 West.”
Here's how he described the track to the song's SoundCloud page:
The point of the song was to make the listener feel like they're riding with me back home in [Chicago] as we head out west to my mother's house. This song is the conversation I would have with my audience in the sense that I'm venting to them about my everyday and [ongoing] battle of being a bread winner back home.
Los Angeles Lakers big man Roy Hibbert seems to share similar feelings:
