Who’s Hungry?: Lil Wayne Is Dropping His ‘No Ceilings’ 2 Tape On Thanksgiving

As of late, Lil Wayne has been tied up in court hearings and feuds over money with his former Cash Money fam, but apparently the Young Money rapper is breaking free this holiday season. Just a day after the its sixth anniversary, Lil Wayne announced on Twitter that he will be dropping the long awaited sequel to his 2009 mixtape, No Ceilings. And although the sequel is over five years in the making, No Ceilings 2 will be released on Thanksgiving.

Lil Wayne is in no way a stranger to the mixtape series. In fact, most of his mixtapes actually had sequels and prequels including Da Drought 1,2 and 3, Dedication throughDedication 5, and Sorry4 the Wait and Sorry 4 the Wait 2. So it was a little surprising when No Ceilings, the mixtape the rapper wrote while serving a one-year sentence in jail, didn’t get a follow up.
But at the beginning of the month, Lil Wayne gave his followers something to look forward to, debuting the art work for the sequel mixtape. Like its predecessor, the mixtape will most likely feature renditions to popular songs by other rappers. Tunechi has previously remixed “Swag Surfin” by F.L.Y, “Wasted” by Gucci Mane, and Jay Z’s hit, “Run This Town.”  No Ceilings 2 will be the third free release Lil Wayne will be dishing out to fans following Sorry 4 the Wait 2 and the Free Weezy Album.
It’s looking like free albums are the only thing Weezy will be releasing as he continues to sort out issues with Birdman and his Cash Money label. Until then, hisCarter V album will remain in limbo. But as fans await a family feud resolution, they can look forward to a little something to listen to during the turkey day.
