Future took to Twitter to explain why he didn't perform as planned at this year's annual Hot 97 Summer Jam on Sunday night. According to Future, it was Hot 97's fault that he didn't perform. "Radio station told me to leave...major pump fake," he tweeted.
Future must have felt frustrated in the situation, but he also kept things positive. "Totally satisfied & happy wit hot 97 always showing love spinning my records...misunderstood,dnt play Yoself," before adding "Positive vibes only..summer 16."
Future was one of many artists slated to perform at yesterday's Summer Jam at Met Life Stadium alongside DJ Khaled, Pusha T, and the rest of the G.O.O.D. Music family. Unfortunately, Hot 97 announced early in the day they had to cancel the festival stage—which had Chance the Rapper, Tory Lanez, Curren$y, Desiigner, Post Malone, Dave East, Justine Sky, Dougie F, and Rotimi all scheduled to perform—due to New York's impending weather conditions. Hot 97's Ebro also took to Twitter to explain that Future and Usher were "cut due to time & weather."
The weather issues also caused Governors Ball to cancel the third day of the festival Sunday, which had Kanye scheduled as the headliner. Fans were as upset as all the artists set to perform about the sudden chance in plans. Fortunately, Kanye turned everything around by showing up at Summer Jam alongside the G.O.O.D. music crew.
He also attempted a surprise pop up shop in NYC to make up for the canceled Governors Ball set, but that did not go as planned as all three potential venues were forced to shut down before he was able to perform. Fortunately, Kim Kardashian West promised he will make up the show. The weather was out of Hot 97's control, but at least they persevered and gave the crowd as much as they could, which you can relive right here.
